Move prospects from free value to product signup via your MCP

Let a prospect install your MCP server, get useful free value through their agent (tools or optionally an MCP App UI), then sign in via OAuth when they ask the agent to do more with your product.

Move prospects from free value to product signup via your MCP.

This is the MCP-specific version of the broader agent ecosystem journey: use a tool, resource, CLI, API, skill, or plugin to help a prospect reach value inside the agent workflow they already use.

A prospect installs your MCP server in their agent and immediately gets something useful without creating an account, through tool responses or optionally an MCP App UI. At first, they may just look like an anonymous MCP user.

That free value proves the integration belongs in their workflow. When they ask their agent to go deeper, the MCP server returns a clear sign-in-required message. The user switches their agent config to your auth MCP URL, reconnects via OAuth in the browser, and retries the original action with authorized context.

The account is not the beginning of the journey. It is the natural next step after the agent has already delivered value.

Tool Call MCP Capability
Uses: MCP Tool, MCP Resource, AI Agent
Free value: MCP helps before the user is authorized

Tool Call MCP Tool
Uses: AI Agent, MCP Tool, Product Data
Login gate: MCP explains that sign-in is required
